The image is from Pixar’s Inside Out. The character’s of the mind are looking at the islands of life, which we can think of as our plans. So it’s like looking at our plans from the perspective of inside our head. The verses in this blog post will help you see the good plans that God has for you and remind you to keep that in perspective when you are telling yourself stories from the perspective of inside your head 🙂
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
– Jeremiah 29:11, New International Version (NIV)
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart”
– Jeremiah 1:5, New International Version (NIV)
In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.
– Proverbs 16:9, New International Version (NIV)
The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.
– Isaiah 58:11, New International Version (NIV)
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
– Isaiah 40:31, New International Version (NIV)
The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him
– Psalm 37:23, New International Version (NIV)
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
– Psalm 32:8, New International Version (NIV)
So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
– Matthew 6:31-33, New International Version (NIV)
“Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.”
– Mark 10:29-30, New International Version (NIV)
“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
– John 14:2-3, New International Version (NIV)
“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”
– John 14:26, New International Version (NIV)
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
– John 15:7, New International Version (NIV)
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
– 1 Corinthians 10:13, New International Version (NIV)
So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”
– Hebrews 13:6, New International Version (NIV)
But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.
– 1 Thessalonians 5:8-10, New International Version (NIV)
Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
– Philippians 1:6, New International Version (NIV)
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you
– 1 Peter 1:3-4, New International Version (NIV)
